What can I say about this movie without ruining any part of it for you?
Well, suffice to say I loved it and intend on seeing it multiple times in theaters...but let's make this simple:
- It's a rare sequel that rivals, and pretty much pwns the original.
- It is entertaining even if you're not a big nerd (though you won't get as much out of it as the nerds will).
- It's only "predictable" to real fans because it's the kind of Batman movie that you would have written. That is to say that all the twists fall in line with how each character ought to be.
- It was 2 & 1/2 hours long. But it didn't really feel like it.
- It's amazing when the ENTIRE theater can "ooh", "aah", laugh, and go "Oh, shit!" all in sync and on cue.
- Heath Ledger really is incredible. And after the joy of the movie starts to waft away several hours later, it's very very sad.
- It's disturbing and violent, but not gory. Amazing. Also hilarious and tragic.
- It breeds conversation because there are multiple ways to interpret certain parts.
- Most of all, it was exactly what it should have been and needed to be. Anything more or less would have killed it.
